Fluid Control experienced a really high number of visitors to our outside exhibition area during last year’s OTD. And they plan to repeat this success in Bergen this year.
- We think it’s good to have a fun and innovative way to stand out. That’s why we decided to shake things up and brought to OTD a top fuel dragster car. The complete engine tear down and rebuild of the top fuel dragster at our stand was a huge success. Actually, the car itself is unrelated to what we do, but it certainly got visitors very interested; lots of people were talking, sharing and engaging with us like never before, says Irene Håland, Marketing Manager at Fluid Control.
– Visibility is everything
There are a lot of good quality exhibition stands at Offshore Technology Days (OTD). The exhibitors at Norway’s largest annual oil exhibition have the habit of bringing anything from simulators to VR headsets. But taking a top fuel dragster car is not something that you see every day. Because of this, Fluid Control was among the most visited exhibitors at Stavanger last year. Fluid Control sponsor the only Top Fuel team in Rogaland and aim to repeat the success when the OTD takes place at Sotra 17th – 18th October.
-80 percent of OTD visitors last year remember visiting our stand and on average spent one-and-a-half hours at the stand and obviously that is great exposure for us.
– Visibility and brand awareness is everything from a marketing perspective. You must stand out, create better experiences and deliver value. As an exhibitor, don’t just give attendees a reason to come to your booth, give them a reason to stay for a while. The dragster was a fun tool to engage attendees, and therefore we want to bring the car also this year, says Håland.
Håland and her colleagues at Fluid Control have been a permanent fixture at the OTD for more than ten years and it’s not without reason. The marketing manager believes that this exhibition stands out in particular as an important networking arena for the oil, gas & energy industry.
– Some companies are unsure whether to sign up for exhibitions and conferences or not, but when you look at what you get in return, OTD represents a very solid return on our investment. One crucial element of OTD is that it offers and facilitates the opportunity for companies to meet with a large portion of their customer base in one meeting place. And this is a very economical way of us achieving face-to-face communications with a large number of new customers at one time and also strengthening our relationships with existing clients.
Håland also mentions how important the good collaboration they have with the organizers, Offshore Media Group (OMG).
-Collaboration is a great way to approach networking. OMG listen to you and are always open to new ideas. The Dragster is a good example, when we wondered if this was possible, they were super excited and offered us the support we needed to make the most of our stand. They are certainly more innovative and adaptable than others. Fluid Control is very pleased with the cooperation with OMG.
