FMC Subsea School is part of OTD Knowledge. The seminars take place at the
VilVite - Bergen Science Centre, a five minute ferry ride from the fair
area. The OTD ferry departs every ten minutes.
Course 1 and 2: FMC Subsea School - introduction
The course provides a general introduction to subsea technology. The course starts with a general review of how to acquire subsea production equipment. It will also provide some information on field development as well as a review of the individual systems: structures, wellheads, well construction principles, vertical and horisontal Christmas trees, tool systems, production control system, tie-in and connection of systems. The course concludes with a review of new fields subsea separation and maintenance of subsea wells.
Who should attend: Everyone with some or no knowledge of subsea technology, who wish to enhance their knowledge of the field.
Aim: To obtain a good understanding of the technology's systems.
Instructor: Jan Erik Ellefsen, manager at FMC Technologies Training Center at Ågotnes, has 25 years experience within subsea technology, from going offshore to training FMC's clients and employees the last 13 years.
